Museum's Mission and Objectives

The mission of the Museum of the Cetinska Krajina Region – Sinj is to preserve, protect, display and interpret archaeological, numismatic, natural history, ethnographic, art, cultural history and other material of monumental and museum value from the area of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region.
The primary objective of the Museum of the Cetinska Krajina Region – Sinj is to systematically collect, preserve, maintain, arrange, restore, conserve and permanently protect museum material, but also to study and scientifically interpret movable and immovable cultural heritage – objects, documents and buildings of certain monumental and museum value to the history and development of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region. One of its main objectives is to promote publishing activities through the publication of research and exhibition catalogues, guides and professional and scientific publications on museum material and documentation relating to Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region. The Museum's objective is also to keep a card index and photographic archive as well as other museum-related documentation, systematically collect, preserve and interpret the library's contents indispensable for the professional and scientific work of museum staff, prepare and organise permanent and temporary exhibitions, both independently and in collaboration with other museums and institutions from Croatia and abroad, care for its own institutional records, promote the museum profession through cooperation with schools and other institutions as well as all those interested, in line with the Code of Ethics for Museums. It is very important to carry out systematic archaeological fieldwork through collaboration with scientific institutions and collect material in order to protect it and preserve it. The vision of the Museum of the Cetinska Krajina Region – Sinj is based on the sustainable and systematic research of cultural heritage, with the aim of making the Museum the central place for creating a database of museum material and museum documentation relating to the cultural heritage of Sinj and the Cetinska Krajina Region.
